Servicing your Boiler regularly prolongs the life of your boiler and saves you money. Boiler manufacturers recommend that you service your boiler at least once a year. This means that the boiler is checked and tested to make sure that it is working efficiently and safely. This will result in your boiler using less fuel to produce the same amount of heat. 

Oil boiler servicing involves a lot of cleaning and regular renewal of  perishable parts.  Failing to service your oil boiler regularly will result in it sooting up and eventually breaking down.  Rectifying this breakdown will be more costly and contribute to the shortening of the life of the boiler.

Leaving an oil boiler for long periods of time without a service can cause “sooting up” which can result in increasing fuel consumption and decreased reliability.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A SERVICE?

• A visual inspection of the boiler installation and Oil tank will be undertaken to ensure it complies with current regulations.
• Oil supply to your boiler will be checked for any sign of leakage.
• Oil filters will be cleaned or replaced if necessary.
• Oil tank will be checked for water contamination.
• Flue will be inspected and cleaned.
• Flue guard fitting will be checked ( if required ).
• Rating of fuse fitted will be checked ( 3 amp )
• Boiler baffle door will be removed and internal components such as the heat exchanger and baffles will be cleaned.
• Condensate trap will be cleaned ( Condensing boilers only )
• Flame sensing device will be checked.
• Oil nozzle will be replaced.
• Flexible hose will be inspected and replaced if necessary.
• Safety systems such as thermostats, pressure relief valves and burner lock out devices will be checked to ensure they are functioning correctly.
• Burner will be checked for wear and/or damage.
• Boiler will be fired up until warm and the combustion will be checked with flue gas analyser ( printout of readings given to customer ).
• Breaches in regulations, faults, or recommended work needed will be discussed with the customer.
